Popular Edmonton radio stations; JOE 92.5 FM and AM 630 CHED have selected Magnet Mobile Media‘s mobile content platform – “m3″ – to deploy Short Code text messaging services.  Listener audiences can use their mobile phones to participate with shows via messaging in song requests and entering on-air promotional contests.

Short Code text messaging in Canada continues to muster popularity. According to the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association;  Canadians sent and received a total of 711.9 million text messages using Common Short Codes in Q3 2011, marking a 27% increase over the same quarter in 2010.
