Iridium MasterCard®, a prepaid credit card, has launched a new SMS service that enables its customers to track their credit card activity.
You can text in anytime to view your account balance and you can opt in to get activity alerts.
Text alerts inform you on card activity to help you bank better. You can be alerted to events such as when your card has been used, when a payment has been posted and when you run into the red.
Future aspirations for the text service is to permit customers to transfer money by SMS. The service is also free to customers but standard network rates will apply should you go over your free text bundle.
